Cosplay for a Cause--the Bantay Kalikasan Environmental Cosplay Competition!
The details for October 3rd's Environmental Cosplay competition have finally arrived! Let's all cosplay for a cause--proving that we cosplayers do care and bring to light what we've always done (using recycled, recyclable materials for cosplay), and how we can help save the environment in our own ultra-colorful way!
Date: OCTOBER 3
Location: SM MEGATRADE HALL 1
Rationale:
Environmental Cosplay
All this excitement over cosplay does not come without some flak from those not well acquainted with the hobby, or those who don't see the point. Many people (usually cosplayers' parents and families) see cosplay only as an expensive hobby with no form of payout. Cosplayers' costumes, even a simple one, when specially made by "cosplay tailors", cost upwards of two thousand pesos. Even made with the barest of minimums, cosplaying is still very expensive, with considerations for material, wigs, contacts and other extras such as props and makeup. Considered as rather shallow and pointless, cosplayers have since been fighting to be taken a bit more seriously and be more accepted in the common community.
The Environmental Cosplay aims to bring to light what many cosplayers (in their zeal for cost-cutting) have already been doing—which is to bolster costume-making with the use of recycled and recyclable materials. The Environmental Cosplay con would allow cosplayers to go about their beloved hobby and at the same time help the environment with the contribution they would make for the convention. Cosplaying for good causes would be just what the doctor ordered in terms of bettering the public' opinion of cosplaying, as well as making the youth aware of the status of the environment and what they could do to help out.

Thank you for all your support so far!
Also...
I will be updating Dalton soon. :) I am grateful for everyone who continues to support me in this area, but most

The Bright Saturday
Hi everyone! I went to two events in one day last Saturday. I went to the Grand Finals of the J-Pop Anime Singing Competition at SM North sponsored by the Japanese Embassy, and then went to pose for the Saturday Group of Artists at Shangri-La Mall.
:bulletgreen: The J-Pop Anime Singing Competition Grand Finals
I tried to channel a hime yesterday in my costume, and right after getting ready, mom and I romped off to SM North Edsa to find the Finals of the J-Pop Singing. We got a bit lost--I was first told it was going to be held at the Sky Garden, but then was told that it was at the Annex. So we went all the way up to the Annex and we were g
The 4-Event Update! I'm alive! XD
Hi everyone! ^^ I'm alive! It's been a while since I last updates, and quite a few things happened. I'll do my best to recount them all here. :)
Warning: Long post. :XD:
:bulletgreen: Adventures in Toycon 2010
As I said in my previous post, I was very fortunate enough to be part of the Otacool 2 book signing at the Maxicollector Booth this Toycon. It was my very first time doing anything like that, and to say that I was bewildered is quite an understatement. *BlackMageAlodia (https://www.deviantart.com/blackmagealodia) and :iconorangeish:, the two new Ani-Mates of the Animax channel, handled it all pretty well. :XD: :iconangelace9:, who had flown in from Cebu with her family

I'm a cosplayer and all, but cosplay for me is nothing but an expensive hobby (explains why I haven't cosplayed in ages :sob. and now it's becoming a replacement for "concerts" in several campaigns. I really don't get the point of this one.
But since the cause is something I'm also an advocate of, then... ^^ hahaha ang biased ko grabe! Go environment! wahahahahahhahahaha!
Good luck sa mom mo sa event na to! ^^ (pati ok na youth ang target na attendees dito, kasi next gen. mejo na-narrow nga lang sa cosplay or anime enthusiasts... paano naman nila to pinropromote? hahah di ba halatang interisado ako? wwwww)
