Chowking Chicken Dance

Like I said in my last update, I somehow got drafted into the Chicken Dance competition! XD

Anyway, thanks to everyone's amazing support (really REALLY awesome support, guys, I love you), I won! Yaaaaay!!! I won the grand prize, and the cash will help us at home and also have money for me to make a new ensemble~ So yay!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, everyone who gave your support. Seriously, it could NOT have been done without you.

The TV5 Relaunch

This happened last week, March 25th. A week before that, invited me to join a group of cosplayers to mount the stage at the big relaunch of TV5, one of the big television stations in the country. They have a massive block devoted to Anime, and are even looking to sponsor a huge convention sometime (the way Hero TV has HeroCon every year). They came to Miss Alodia to request her and her sister 's appearance, and some more cosplayers to make a catwalk performance.

I was very lucky and very grateful to be among them. The list is:

We had two days of rehearsal where we had quite a lot of fun and laughs, and then we mounted the stage at the relaunch and it had to be the single most exhilarating moment in my life yet (the lights, the stage, the crowds, the fact that we would be in the event along with dozens of the biggest stars in the country). It's to hit the air on the first Monday of April.

Santacruzan

I'm crossing it off my Bucket List~!

Ever since I was little girl, I'd wanted to be part of the annual Santacruzan. It's when the town belles get invited (because only a select committee can choose which girls to represent each ranking position in the parade)to be part of a grand royal parade of flowers and lights in celebration of the Virgin Mary. There are different "ranks" with each girl getting a different title, and a different "reyna" or queen. The most coveted spot is, of course, the Reyna Elena, who appears at the tail end of the parade. I have always wanted to be a part of this wonderful parade, one of the highlights for the month of May.

I am very very proud to say that my sister and I have been invited to be part of this year's Santacruzan in our town in Pasig City. It would appear that my grandmother's friends were members of the committee, and they had seen both me and my sister during my grandmother's 80th birthday last year. So for this year, they had placed my sister in the Reyna Emperatris position, and myself in the Reyna Elena position. I was virtually thrilled to death, quite honestly, but I was even more thrilled at the fact that my dear sister would be a "Reyna" along with me. :3 I'm very proud of her and have always wanted to see her get dolled up (my sister seems to have an averse reaction to getting too dolled up or dressed up--she's not as much of a gaudy person as I am most of the time. )

Let me just say that this was a shocker of shockers for me. As many many cosplayers know, Otacool 2 is a book that will compile cosplayers from all around the globe. Countless entries have been submitted to Figure.fm for those who would get into the book, and the Philippines is proud to say that received one of the most coveted front-cover spots for the book (although quite honestly, no one was very surprised. XD)

What DID shock me was when Yoshikawa Daisuke of Kotobooks emailed me and told me that I also made it into the book. I stared at my computer screen like a moron for what might have been fifteen minutes before I went nuts.

So I would like to say, THANK YOU, PEOPLE AT OTACOOL 2!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WONDERFUL AMAZING UNBELIEVABLE PRIVILEGE!!

I'm quite new at cosplaying (I've only been at this for a little over a year), and so to be truly blessed this way is really beyond my comprehension. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, my gratitude knows no bounds, to you, and to God for blessing me this much.
